One hundred 10000 customers
Computer Generated Design
This work is extremely complex.
It covers an area of around 1200meters square. It is 9m high, 20m long, 60m wide. The work was created based on the plan and elevation data of a certain building. A part of the work is realistic and looks like a high and large-capacity platform. The rest of the space is filled with crisscross frameworks.
‘One hundred 10000 customers’ has been seven years old since its birth in 1997. Within the past seven years, the work was changing all the time. It was once monotone, and afterwards multicolored. People previously had to turn on a bulb in a dark room and thus develop a photographic work. They can presently develop it through photographic negative and double exposure. I wish to create a project which I have always desire but cannot finish doing. The project is to permeate my thought and life with photography so that the photography throbs with my pulse, changes with my interests and ends with me. Therefore, the indoor part is the most interesting and important.
The passage to the platform comprises two flights of stairs. 100 different customers are placed together at a time so much as the unique aspect of each customer is highlighted. When they are placed together, you can find something wonderful. It seems like scene after scene of plays are performed on photographic paper. The entire work was created using steel structure and through inlaying. Windows made from glass and plastic steel, white aluminum and grey granite are installed within. A 3-horsepower air-conditioner, 2 bulletproof glass doors are installed within. The wall is painted with ICI. Spotlights are installed on the ceiling. The golden and cream-colored granite is pasted on the ground. A 2m long and 1m wide table is put at the center of the platform. Nothing but 3 thin casing’s models of motor, armored car and tank are placed inside.
I do not know the relationship between architecture and public art is. I simply know that it is my latest idea. The only thing I wish to do is to make my ideal reality.
