This catalogue is a photographic documentation of a series of experimental art projects, collectively entitled ‘Wildlife’, held outside traditional exhibition spaces. A total of twenty-seven artists from cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu participated in this programme which began in March 1997 and carried on for a year. A chronology of events on contemporary Chinese art (from 1986-1997) is provided.
