This is the catalogue for the exhibition ‘Hot Pot: Chinese Contemporary Art’, held at Kunstnernes Hus, Oslo, Norway in 2001. Bringing together the works of twenty-nine artists from China and Hong Kong, the organizer intends to present the ways through which these pieces have reflected the processes of change and transformation that are so characteristic of contemporary China. The accompanying articles provide a background for the understanding of the development of contemporary art in China. Biographical information of participating artists is also included.
