Introduction:
Post-material, according to Huang Du (curator of this exhibition), is a stage in which massive expansion of post-industry and global commercialism have brought about both positive and negative consequences. The former are characterised by electronic industry, mobile phones and transmission of TV programmes via satellite while the latter global warming and various kinds of pollution. The aim of this exhibition is to look at how contemporary artists interpret their everyday living in this post-material environment. Descriptions for each artist’s work and biographical information of the artists are included.
