The present publication, edited by Ai Weiwei, is a compilation of interviews with, texts on, and artworks of twenty three artists who won the Chinese Contemporary Art Award during 1998 - 2002. They were selected by a world-class jury of top international curators, critics and collectors, including Harald Szeemann, Alana Heiss, Hou Hanru, Li Xianting, Ai Weiwei, Yi Ying, Uli Sigg.
