This present volume of the catalogue features images of works of the participating artists. 'The publication of this catalogue got under way just at the time when the exhibition was opening. It includes a summary giving a short history of the biennial. Though not all the works exhibited are reproduced here, all the artists are nonetheless represented... The photographs were taken in situ between 26 June and 5 July, using digital cameras.' - excerpt from 'Bla Bla'. The layout of the catalogue is designed to reflect the setup of the venue. Brought together by the theme of 'Sharing of Exoticisms', the images in the catalogue are juxtaposed in order to emphasize the mutual confrontation and dialogues between the works. N.B. Please note that only Asian artists are listed below. In addition, Chinese artists Peng Yu, Xiao Yu, Zhu Yu, Sun Yuan, Zang Han Zi and Qin Ga were invited to make video documentaries of their works. And it is documents rather than works of art that the Lyon biennial is exhibiting.
