Introduction:
This material was published in conjunction with the inaugural exhibition of Mori Art Museum. As mentioned in the foreword by Yoshiko Mori and David Elliot, a concern with the connection between art and life lies in the centre of the Museum’s programs. David Elliot's essay explains how ‘Happiness’ is relevant to art, and how the exhibition was organized. Although the exhibition involves works from different regions, of diverse media, and from variety of periods, the most universal human aspiration called ‘Happiness’ runs as a common thread. Artists’ Biographies and notes on authors are available at the end.
