This catalogue was published to document a series of exhibitions on modern and contemporary art from the Jiangnan region held at twelve galleries and art organizations in Vancouver, Canada in 1998. Works of over twenty Chinese artists were shown. The accompanying essay provides an introduction and a study of the development of art in this culturally rich region of China. Artists’ biographies are also included.
