Welcome to Birdhead World Again

From Nov.9 to Dec. 23, 2016, FAB-UNION SPACE will present solo exhibition "Welcome to Birdhead World Again - Shanghai, 2016". The exhibition features a series of photography, including some totally new work. Birdhead's oeuvre consists of photographic images of daily life, personal hobbies and traveling. After developing, arranging and mounting, the snap-shot aesthetic of their extensive and accumulative photos constitute Birdhead World-series.

Based on Birdhead’s love for traditional Chinese lacquer and mounting technology, the exhibition includes some well-crafted works which combine with the photograhs they took in Siberia, Southeast Asia and other regions, weaving out the latitude and longitude of Birdhead's world throughout the exhibition space.

The first floor showcases photography taken in frigid zone in the form of a huge photo matrix, as well as two pieces of work selected from "Passions Bloom Ambitions from Vagina" series surrounded by LED lights. As the audience move with the winding stairs of the exhibition space, a pair of landscape photographs in reversal position and artists' portraits appear. The three-panel photo matrix on the second floor was taken during Birdhead's residency in Southeast Asia. The planarization of the left and right wings has a subtle response to the narrative of the central panel. In addition, some special objects from the Birdhead studio are integrated into the exhibition as works.
