ShanghART Gallery is pleased to announce ‘ShanghART Night’ with a unique presentation of Zhao Bandi’s Panda Couture.
The fabulous event will take place on board the Jinmao Shengrong Yacht on the Huangpu River. Here, ShanghART will host an exclusive dinner party with a selected group of specially invited art enthusiasts, artists, collectors and fashionistas.
Zhao Bandi's Panda Fashion successfully premiered at Beijing Fashion Week in November 2007 causing a lot or reaction. Now, a special selection will finally arrive in Shanghai – displayed gracefully and spectacularly on board the yacht – promising to cement Zhao Bandi’s status as one of the most innovative and important artists working in the intersection of fine art and fashion.
One dress ('The Policewoman' see images and video below) will be auctions off this evening.

Zhao Bandi was born in 1966 in Beijing, where he lives and works. He graduated from the Beijing Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1988. Since 1993, his works have been shown at international exhibitions, and his project “Zhao Bandi & Panda” has been on public display in Shanghai, Milan, London etc. His main solo exhibitions include The Tales of Zhao Bandi and the Panda, ShanghART H-Space, Shanghai (2006); Moving in the margins between history and society, Zhao Bandi creates a new, hitherto latent subject of social action.
