ShanghART Beijing presents Zhang Ding’s 7th exhibition at the gallery: "GOOD DAY EVERYDAY", showcasing a series of wall-based sculptures the artist created in the last three years. This series of marble sculptures titled after poetic tag lines continue the surveillance motif developed by the artist since his 2018 "Safe House" project, combining the robotic, the inhuman, and the role of the all-seeing observer to reflect in the artist’s signature style on the conditions of life today.
Zhang Ding was born in 1980, his recent solo exhibitions include: "CON TROL CLUB", Fosun Foundation Shanghai, Shanghai (2020); "High-Speed Forms", OCAT Shanghai, Shanghai (2019); "Safe House", the Bunker, Wyoming Project, KWM art center, Beijing (2018); "Vortex", ShanghART, Shanghai (2017); "Devouring Time", Rockbund Art Museum, Shanghai (2016); "Enter the Dragon", ICA London, London (2015). Recent group exhibitions include: "The Trace of Civilization: The Great Art of Dunhuang", Beijing Minsheng Art Museum, Beijing (2022); "36 degrees north latitude art exhibition", Lanzhou (2021); "2019 Wuzhen Contemporary Art Exhibition: Now is the time", Wuzhen (2019); "Chinese Summer", Astrup Fearnley Museet, Oslo (2017). Zhang Ding participated in the 12th Lyon Biennale, Lyon in 2013.
