The group exhibition "outdated" was inspired by full belly of outdated stuff which was the brief description of life by the literature giant Su Shi from Northern Song Dynasty. This show will cast seven young artists Liu Ren, Su Chang, Xiao Min, ZAKA, Zhang Ruyi, Zhang Yunyao, and Zhou Yongjie with paintings, sculptures, installations and video works.
Zhang Ruyi started from her "very awkward" survival statement and projected her emotion on paintings and installation works, thus released herself.
Su Chang attempted to look at the works from the eyes of ancients and observed the present daily life with an attitude of people who are living.
Xiao Min's sculpture, Chamber of Secrets, used images from Ming Dynasty with modern materials. The whole creative process was nothing more than some ascetic. Torture was probably not an exaggeration.
Liu Ren placed The Liu Xiang out of the race at the London Olympics event on the wall.
Zhang Yunyao’s black and white is a world without time dimension. He tried to express the world of general senses that words cannot describe through paintings.
The mysterious ZAKA has participated anonymously, as always.
Zhou Yongjie invites audience to wear 3D glasses to see his paintings. You must wait to know what you will see.
