About
WINDOWSKY originates from Gao’s new outdoor installation tailored to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei. This is closely related to one of his earliest photography works in 2007, Building No. 35-103#. Through the connection and transformation of his previous and current works, Gao tries to explore the gradual changes in power and how it adapts itself in the social system with constant updates and renewal. Moreover, the creation also reflects that through technology and media, power intrudes and penetrates into society of all levels submissively and inoffensively. This occupation strategy is moderate, extensive, secretive and long-lasting. With this so-called “system upgrade” process, our body and thoughts have been trapped unknowingly little by little in the territory of various forms of power.
