Solo Exhibition Space Station, 798 Art District, Beijing, No. 4 Jiuxianqiao Rd
"Not Long Enough" is Shi Qing' s 2010 art project at Space Station in Beijing. The installation on exhibit embodies the artist' recent reflections on the rationale behind making. With his attempts to approach it from two angles, form and system of reference, the artist interchanges the attributes of the objects to efface its rationale, thus, would the work positioned under a framework of time without any rationales, find a standard or is the artist mysophobic?
The artist' s approach is to dirty it first. Shi Qing has experimented in various subject matters and forms in his past creative practices, his recent works are most installations focusing on topics of social space, material properties and subjectivity and etc. The artwork will be shown from April 24 to May 28, 2010.
