In Fifth Night, artist Yang Fudong has captured a single scene from seven vantage points which is then pieced together to create a fractured whole that plays out on seven screens. A work that reflects a poetic and disjunctive narrative about contemporary China, Fifth Night is by an artist considered to be one of the most influential to emerge in China in the late 1990s.
