In 2004, artist DING Yi designed Taidi Villa for Helan Mountain Project in Yinchuan. Given the special foundation of the mountain which was located in the affected area of a spillway, his design lifted the structure from the ground, transforming this single-story construction into an overhanging building, with its formality in correspondence with the center of gravity. Considering the regional characteristics, the artist cleverly suspended the villa above the flood stage and rendered the character of 井 with its multilayered pavilion structure. The work carries a high sense of design and fits perfectly into the nature.
