Memory Flying by DING Yi was selected into Shanghai Expo Sculpture Project in 2010 and was sited in its outdoor park in April of the same year. Utilising five concepts like "growth, accessibility, accumulation, expectation and sustainability", the work achieved the construction of a rich formality. Bent over, hollowed out and inserted with multi-coloured materials, the set of sculptures displayed artist’s expectation of history and future. With its tough and romantic manner of expression, it echoed perfectly with the adjacent Expo Site.
