On October 13th, 2012 the UCLA Confucius Institute launches the inaugural China Onscreen Biennial, in partnership with The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Hollywood), REDCAT (Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theatre), UCLA Film & Television Archive (Billy Wilder Theatre, Hammer Museum) and The Freer Sackler Gallery (Smithsonian, Washington D.C.). This is a unique bicoastal presentation of Chinese cinematic works in venues across Los Angeles and in Washington D.C. - the respective entertainment and national capitals of the United States.
