Archive 12: Chen Shaoxiong / Archive 13: Shi Qing
“My first words as a child was ‘I want to be an artist’ rather than calling out ‘Mommy’ and ‘Daddy’”, this was my answer to a recent interview question “When did you decide to become an artist? ”. Meanwhile I also provided an entirely different answer, “Until this day, I still haven’t decided whether I would like to be an artist, because I don’t know what is art.” The same is true for working with video art, I don’t know how I became involved, nor do I know what it is.
- Chen Shaoxiong
I take video experiments as a continuous process of editing, rewriting and re-producing, as well as attempts to juxtapose the narrative and the event into the creativity and exhibition of the artwork.
