The fundamental forms of plants and landscapes, along with their geometrized structures, establish a novel relationship. The naive approach shares an intrinsic connection with the paintings of Cézanne and Matisse. Yet Wu Yiming's art primarily reveals his personal values—a profound unity of the material and the spiritual. Wu Yiming possesses a peculiar fascination with the ordinary, stemming from his profound grasp of life's meaning and his own existence. He believes the true path of art unfolds only through doubting “certainty” or established rules. His works vividly reveal suffocatingly spiritual scenes—ordinary objects, tranquil atmospheres, and void-like landscapes.
