"Wishing Well" is an installation that tightly connected with Chen Wei’s photography of coins. A sculpture base stands in the center of the well, and the pieces of the sculpture’s body scatter in it. Some coins lie on the bottom of the well sparkle in the light, they also drop down from a device of the ceiling.

As a real scene of the urban public space, wishing well and the anonymous sculpture have been given fond meanings. Wish-making is a kind of imagination, hope and longing, revealing an insurmountable gap between reality and expectation. In the fast changing environment, wishing well has became a psychological symbol of the cities.
