In ZHANG Ding’s solo exhibition Orbit of Rock (2014), chemical interaction generated by all the in-between stimulation transformed the site into environmental sculpture of twisting emotion and atmosphere. Since then, he enter into a number of projects and initiated the art label CON TROL CLUB, to experiment further and explore more possibilities in his works by opening up the sole art authorship. In the series project Enter the Dragon (2015 - 2016), he invited 44 musicians of various genres and styles to challenge the rules of music across ICA London, Shanghai and Singapore; in Devouring Time (2016), he transformed the Rockbound Art Museum into a golden jail and live-streamed the event of 150 VIPs having dinner party together. In the meantime, CON TROL CLUB has presented various projects as the parties of both controllability and anti-controllability, which is to focus on the social practice of tapping into the field of contemporary youth culture.

After three years, ZHANG Ding is back to the gallery space for creating an immense vortex in the ShanghART Shanghai.
