“ The relationship between the images and the addresses is both simple and beautiful. Geng Jianyi insisted on working with real addresses, so we collected addresses from our team members, mainly from Breda but some from other cities like [that of our assistant curator] Heidi’s in Tilburg and mine in Amsterdam. Each contributed a photo of the flooring in their living room. So the addresses are not random; they belong to a group of people that were actively involved in producing the exhibition.”
