Their presence was perceived in between the light and shadow of the course of history. Today, by recalling them on his screen, Yang Fudong shows no intention to probe into the dust of those lost dreams. Instead, he wants to re-write the history of them as “new women” from two perspectives: “body” and “life”. It is a story without protagonists (or say, everybody is a protagonist) or plot.
