In the mid-1980s, Wei Guangqing was one of the main members of "85's Modern Art Movement", and became one of the main members of political Pop artists in 1990s. His Red Wall series puts the traditional cultural ideology into the revolutionary ideology; it would be one of his representative works. If Wang Guangyi's Big Critic shows the commercial culture impacts the revolutionary ideology through absurdity and humor, then Wei Guangqing's Red Wall series brings to mind the relationship and entanglement between the ancient tradition and revolutionary ideology.
