WE SPACE is pleased to present Reefs in the Furnace, a two-person exhibition by Han Qian and Zhao Yu, curated by independent curator Li Boyan. On view from September 24 to November 3, 2022, the exhibition continues WE SPACE's sustained commitment to emerging artists, presenting recent research-based practices by two Chinese artists who have both lived in France for extended periods. Through video, archival documents, photography, and installation, the exhibition explores themes of historical inquiry, the construction of identity, and cultural transformation, articulating an open-ended dialogue between memories of one's homeland and memories of distant places.
