Film Festival Cuernavaca
The IV Chinese Female Video Artists Festival, one of its kind, has been held since 2015 in various Mexican venues, as well as in Costa Rica and Spain. In 2017 the Second Festival had a special program to celebrate the 45 years of Diplomatic Relations between Mexico and the PRC and we invited Guangdong as the guest province. The Third Festival was scheduled for 2020, but due to the global pandemic, the videos were have been screened in 2021 on the border with the United States, at the National Center for the Arts, in San José de Costa Rica and in Cuernavaca City.
The Mexican city of Cuernavaca is known as the City of Eternal Spring, just like Kunming, Yunnan. Based on this happy coincidence, there will be a special program that for the first time will bring together Mexican and Chinese video artists, integrated into the Festival.
The festival will premiere at the major Cinema in Cuernavaca, and will be screened in various venues afterwards. We want to share the different artistic discourses and issues of their work with, as women with different personal backgrounds that share the same cultural roots. Their video art works will contribute to enrich the knowledge of Chinese women video art and Chinese female artists in a Western/male Art world.
