This work describes and reflects on the living situation of migrant workers in the city. Using video, photography, ready-made objects and
other media, the installation depicts the life of six workers who come from different regions in China who work in different sectors of society.
The video is made up of interviews of the workers who speak about the negotiation of their private and public lives. More than a thousand closeup photographs of pedestrians taken from the streets make up a wall installation—capturing the vastness but anonymity of the individual. The installation is, also composed of ready-made or the daily life goods of city workers.
