This series of works are filled with prejudiced and symbolic elements. MadeIn Company extracts materials from Middle East’s political cartoons and Arabia culture as well as art, creating and catering to the universal expatiation which comes from western countries. Simultaneously, it ridicules the entire producing of contemporary art. Moreover, the influence of newly emerging economy and the desire as well as expectation of searching for the exoticism encourage MadeIn to revolt and challenge the art colonialism. This project creates an incongruous level of appreciating and understanding via the visual angle of prejudice. It also reveals a paradox: we cannot see our own eyes, only can see them from others.
This work is one from the "Make Up" series. From a distance, it looks like a magnified and distorted painting, which is rich in color and has delicate exotic floral ornaments. The work abstractly tells a story that cannot be told by reason.
