The material for the work "Nectarina" is derived from the prominent hip features of women practicing yoga. There is a popular internet saying: "The butt determines the head." I believe this saying aptly reveals the psychological undertone we have when facing desire. I extracted the shape of the hips from the material to form the large, swollen head at the center of the painting. The playfully exaggerated teeth in the image are inspired by the teeth of my pet dog. I employed swiftly brushed strokes combined with airbrush techniques to depict it, giving the surface a granular, matte-like texture. The visual culture of our era is constantly expanding and swelling outward at an extreme pace. The figures in my paintings are always swelling outward beyond the canvas, yet they are invariably trapped within the confines of the frame—this is the fate of a painting. Humans are prisoners of desire. Sometimes I wonder: Is it our desires that shape these images, or is it these images that shape our desires?
