Stone is one of many human hand sculptures presented in the Gold & Silver series. This particular sculpture holds a stone over a sheet of gold resembling a blank passport. Still, the hand appears to have fallen. This inactive nature of the hand is intentional, seemingly demonstrating the passive side of mankind in the consumerist market. That is to say that Stone and its related hand sculptures foil Installation Cat and illustrate the opposite side of human nature; contributing to collective without active thought. The hand, as a symbol of human grasp, reminds one of materialism; mankind reaching for substance without necessary purpose. The cat, in its active and individual nature, has a face and therefore an identity. The hands lack any form of direct identity and therefore are easily connected to the collective. The fact that they exist in multiples only further emphasizes this aspect.
