Pillar, Ding Yi’s latest sculpture work in 2014, is inspired by the Chinese gardening landscape which looks like Taihu Stone with wrinkled, untight, pierced for beauty, so does another installation in this exhibition, Flying Stones. The work makes the most of geometrical perspective creating an abstract scenery with light and shadow, while the upright stone pillar evokes the tower, a concise form tower of Ding Yi’s art language.
