This work belongs to Yu Youhan's famous Political Pop series "A Pocket Western Art History about Mao" in 1999. In this series, the artist incorporates the image of Chairman Mao into the masterpieces of great European artists. By cleverly using their skills, the work conveys a sense of humor. The work seems to be political, but at the same time, it tries to eliminate the historical depth that its subject originally possesses. It is also a kind of retrospective pop art. It tries to recreate a passing era with its unique icon, retaining a simple image that has been drawn away from the history and making it appear on a non-propaganda painting, which makes people no longer face the idol with worship, and the idol seems to be just a material or a form accidentally captured in the work.
