“undisclosed territory“ is arranged to build a platform of performance art which tends to develop its dynamic and intellectual scales and provides space and time for performance artists to interact with public within art and cultural context.
“undisclosed territory 2007” is our first annual performance event which internationally opens for participations. It invites performance artists from Indonesia and abroad to present their performance works, to give lectures and artist’s talk during the two days event.
Our first „undisclosed territory“ approach is to open the boundaries and cross section between performance art, visual arts and performing arts by focusing on the practical presentations of works by emerging or over twenty years experienced performance artists.
We hope that „undisclosed territory“ opens a new layer of understanding a language that are unspoken nor acted, but done and implicitly communicating. We also hope that this event will broaden public understanding on performance art, artistic process and their socio-cultural contexts.
Located in the northern part of Solo-City, Padepokan Lemah Putih provides a large outdoor space, simple stages and houses in Javanese village architecture that keeps its original village atmosphere and simple condition.
