First shown in Thailand in 2022, ‘Of Love, Of Lights’ belongs to the project of ‘A Minor History Part Two’. It combines an image of an old cinema, taken from the spot where a movie screen once stood, and one of Bangkok's 2020 mass demonstrations. In the latter, the people are holding cell phones with lights turned on "like stars.” Illusions of the past are being replaced (or punctured) by a glimmer of liberty. Or is it the same old revolution taking place on a dying machine?
