The core of this work is composed of packaging materials—plastic bottles, cans, boxes, and other items—collected over a span of more than a decade. These materials strongly convey a sense of being mere by-products, with qualities of hollowness and exclusivity, lacking any original use value or meaning beyond serving the products they once encased. Once these products are used and removed, what remains is the “hollow” essence of decoration itself. These secondary by-products, now decorating one another, become the focus of the piece, forming what is called *Absolute Decoration*. When decoration is stripped of functionality and comes together, the resulting visual and conceptual landscape becomes a pure extension of ornamentation for its own sake—an expansive topology of decoration.
In the exhibition space, objects created with functional intent are layered and linked in seemingly unrelated ways. Through subjective assembly and meticulous trimming, they form a relationship that is purely devoid of function. This arrangement, driven by an intricate yet purely decorative logic, proliferates and evolves solely within the context of hollow ornamentation. These empty objects adorn and complement each other, highlighting their shared hollowness. The overall composition exhibits a remarkable sense of topology and symmetry, accompanied by an astonishing sense of sanctity and manufactured precision, evoking a false sense of functionality and a regenerative presence.
