Li Shan used the visual language of the traditional folk art of paper-cutting to produce images of men and women of all ages and animals with dragonfly wings in order to create a biological world of hybrids of humans, animals, insects, etc. The inlet chamber thus became a space that connects ancient mythical imagination and modern genetic engineering hypothesis to further guide the audience to his creation of bio-art titled “Reading Series”.
